Title: Quality Technician

Summary of Position:      

The Quality Technician is a key member of the cross-functional team and is responsible for managing and delivering superior quality parts. The Quality Technician will work very closely with the programmers, and operators to develop and maintain an efficient and robust quality plan to mitigate defects and improve efficiencies. The role is collaborative and requires ISO 9001 and AS 9100 experiences. 

Duties & Responsibilities    

· Operate DSM in an ISO 9001 and AS 9100 environments. 

· Achieve the company’s high-quality mission by developing and implementing end to end quality procedures and protocols. 

· Operate and program CMM for in-process and final inspection. Calypso platform preferred.

· Leverage quality equipment and technology to track and mitigate defects. 

· Implement and maintain the company's quality documentation, such as quality procedures, in process inspection reports and prints 

· Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the products and the environment, through training and work instructions. 

· Work with cross-functional teams to develop quality inspection plans for current and new products. 

· Investigate defect root causes and implement corrective/preventative. 

· Analyze customer warranty returns and implement corrective and preventative plans/actions. 

· Continuous improvement planning. 

Position Requirements   

· Strong experience and understanding of ISO 9001 and AS 9100D.

· Familiar with GD&T, inspection planning, 1st piece inspection, and AS9102 First Article Inspection. 

· Must be able to show a good knowledge of SPC and its applications. 

· Must be able to show a good practical use of measuring equipm

· Ability to stand for prolonged periods, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently walking and occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms

· Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Also, to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

Education and/or Experience    

Minimum requirements: 

· High School Diploma or GED 

· 2 years’ experience in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2+ years of experience in quality department or a similar role.

· CAD Software 

· Experience with Process Control, Microsoft Office Suite, and E2. 

· Experience in Aerospace and Defense industries ent and measuring techniques. 

· Capable of making independent decisions; whilst being appreciative of department managers and existing protocols.
