Position Overview
Pawnee Mental Health Services is seeking motivated and driven interns to support key operational areas within our organization. Internship opportunities are available in:
- Finance
- Marketing & Communications
- Quality & Risk Management
- Human Resources
This internship provides hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world operations while gaining exposure to behavioral health systems.
Areas and Responsibilities
Finance Intern
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and data analysis
- Support audit preparation and financial documentation
- Help track expenditures and identify trends
- Assist with billing review and revenue tracking
Marketing Intern
- Support social media content creation and scheduling
- Assist with community outreach and event coordination
- Help develop marketing materials and campaigns
- Analyze engagement metrics and recommend improvements
Quality & Risk Management Intern
- Assist with compliance tracking and reporting
- Support incident review and documentation processes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Help analyze trends related to patient care and risk
Human Resources Intern
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and internship coordination
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Help maintain HR records and compliance documentation
- Participate in policy development and HR projects
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in:
- Business Administration
- Finance or Accounting
- Marketing or Communications
- Human Resources
- Healthcare Administration
- Public Health or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook preferred)
- Interest in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit work
