Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new Exhibits Technician Exhibits Technician to join their team!   


Miami Children’s Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational institution, which meets the needs of all children in our multicultural community. The Museum offers interactive exhibits, programs and learning materials related to arts, culture and our community. Miami Children’s Museum encourages visitors of all ages to play, learn, imagine and create together.   


The Exhibits Technician assists in the day-to-day operations of all the Museum exhibit related components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Support the maintenance of the Museum’s exhibit spaces, including repairs, painting, cleaning, and related tasks.
  • Manage the filing of vendor and maintenance records as well as other exhibit-related materials.
  • Participate in the start-up and shut-down procedures of the Museum’s exhibits.
  • Handle the purchase of exhibit supplies and parts while maintaining inventory control.
  • Contribute to the development of new exhibits.
  • Take part in the setup and breakdown of permanent and temporary exhibits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • 3 + years of related experience.
  • Sound verbal and writing skills, Organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of shop related duties (Carpentry, Electronics, and Power Tools).
  • Basic understanding of Computers and Audio and Visual Equipment.
