The General Manager oversees all operations within the Utilities department. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in utility services, particularly in the installation of large-diameter pipes (18" and above), plant work and sewer systems. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Model and ensure a high level of safety among team members and on projects.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
    • Establish and communicate a clear vision for the Utilities Division, aligning team goals with company objectives.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee all operations, including planning and execution. 
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the utilities sector, driving growth and expansion initiatives.
    • Cultivate relationships with stakeholders, clients, and local government entities to enhance community engagement and support.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing profitability.
    • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to enhance revenue generation from a diverse client base
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute strategic plans that align with overall company growth objectives.
    • Keep up with industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive edge in the utilities market.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in utility installation management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and industry best practices with an emphasis on water and sewer systems, plant work and large-diameter pipe (18”+) installation, preferably in the greater Philadelphia/Mid-Atlantic region
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or related field experience.
