Position Details

We’re looking for a talented Network & Security Administrator to play a key role in our innovative and dynamic tech department. At HeinOnline, you’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, safeguard our infrastructure, and contribute to a product that gets over 1.8 billion hits a year.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Network and Systems Management

• Maintain and optimize IT systems and networks, ensuring they run smoothly and securely.
• Administer tools and platforms, including Microsoft 365, Windows/Linux servers, and network equipment.
• Support projects related to IT infrastructure and systems, meeting deadlines efficiently.

Security Operations

• Implement and oversee security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Monitor security alerts and logs, responding quickly to potential issues.
• Collaborate with external vendors to strengthen security practices.

System Maintenance and Reliability

• Perform daily system checks to ensure consistent performance.
• Manage data backups and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical information.
• Keep system documentation up to date for easy reference and compliance.

User Support and Training

• Assist with help desk requests to provide fast, effective resolutions.
• Train team members on system use and security best practices.

Schedule

Monday – Friday

7:30am-4:00pm OR 8:00am-4:30pm OR 8:30am-5:00pm

In-Office position

Qualifications

Desired Skills, Abilities, & Interests:

• An expert in being organized, detailed, and meticulous
• Strong knowledge in implementing best practices and future-proofing our IT infrastructure
• Enjoys researching the latest technologies and making recommendations
• An affinity towards documentation and knowledge sharing
• Collaborative and prefers working in a team environment
• Self-starter and that has a natural drive and interest towards technology
• Excited by complex and unique challenges
• Comfortable with working within deadlines

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
• 3+ years working in an Enterprise Linux infrastructure
• 3+ years working in networking including, firewalls, routing, access points, switches, VPNs
• Administering Microsoft 365 Environments
• Virtualization and storage infrastructure
• Security concepts, tools, and implementing best practices
• PowerShell and Bash scripting
• On-prem and cloud storage infrastructures
• A SSCP certificate is preferred
