Job Title: Line Cook/Prep Cook
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items, including salads, meats, fish, vegetables, and other cold and hot food items. In addition, the Line Cook/Prep Cook will be responsible for inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other cold and hot food items
- Slicing, dicing, julienning, and chopping vegetables, meats, and other food items according to recipe specifications.
- Accurately measuring and portioning ingredients to ensure consistency.
- Perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates
- Inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook/Prep Cook
- Knowledge of cutting and chopping ingredients and following recipes.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

- Two or more years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- Able to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and guests
- Completes and passes restaurant-approved foodhandler/food safety training and coursework
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
- Able to read recipe cards, tickets, and schedule
- Stamina and availability to work 30-40 hours per week
