We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the financial integrity of our organization. As a vital member of our Finance and Administration team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy, implementing effective controls, and supporting our mission through meticulous financial management. This position can be remote or hybrid.

  • Lead critical financial operations, including financial reporting, revenue recognition, payroll coordination, and project-based accounting.
  • Oversee and enhance payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide actionable financial insights and support strategic goals.
  • Shape and enhance financial policies, procedures, and controls for efficiency and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly financial statements and analyses, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Payroll Oversight: Supervise payroll processes, verifying accuracy in account codes, receipts, expense reimbursements, and daily disbursements.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage state, federal, and international tax filings, including property taxes and excise taxes.
  • Budgeting: Develop, monitor, and report on the annual budget in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Cash & Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow, bank reconciliations, and treasury operations.
  • Accounts Oversight: Supervise accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate with auditors for financial statement audits and compliance audits.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • CPA preferred with 5-7 years of relevant financial management experience.
  • Non-profit experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience leading a team preferred.
  • Strong background in payroll management, budgeting processes, and advanced Excel skills. Experience with Paylocity and ADP Canada a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with legal documents, financial statements, and regulatory compliance.
