Choral Program Recruiting Coordinator & Graduate Assistant

The Choral Program Recruiting Coordinator and GA reports to the Director of Choral Activities, working closely with the Office of Admissions. The GA functions as a liaison between the choral program and the enrollment management team, with an emphasis on recruiting for the GU Choir; takes a lead role for the choral program in recruiting initiatives and events; and maintains up-to-date knowledge of aspects of the University including upcoming events, activities, financial aid and housing issues, as well as important recruitment goals and expectations. The GA will also play a role in supporting the entire choral program at Greenville University, to include but not limited to GU Choir, Chorale, Chamber Singers, Gospel Choir and Choral Union. The successful candidate must be able to work flexible and varied hours.

GOAL: Assist in developing empowered and inspiring leaders through a Christ-centered choral program



  • Work cooperatively with the Director of Choral Activities to develop and execute a strategy for recruiting choral students, primarily focused on building the GU Choir.
  • Build relationships with prospective band students and their families through mail, phone calls, e-mails, texts, social media, on-campus visits, personal interviews, and information sessions. Fulfill a required number of contacts each week, setting weekly and monthly contact goals after consultation with the band director and director of admissions.
  • Research, plan, and execute recruitment activities for assigned high schools and choral events, including networking with high school choir directors and guidance counselors, attending national, regional and local choral events and conferences, and working with prospective students and their families. 
  • Participate in planning for on-campus visits by choir recruits.
  • Maintain constant communication with admissions and financial aid staff regarding prospective choir student admissions and scholarship process. 
  • Manage applicant and prospect data entry for choir recruits in Greenville University‚Äôs SalesForce system.
  • Recruit a minimum of 15 deposits each school year.

Band Programs Support:

  • Supervise or lead various choral ensembles and sectionals as needed
  • Perform as needed in various choral ensembles
  • Coordinate choral program travel and events
  • Develop skills in leadership, team-building, conflict management and resolution, group facilitation, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university required. Must be enrolled in a Greenville University graduate program. Experience in choir as well as recruitment, marketing, retail or other business environments is preferred.
