Job Summary:

The New Member Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a welcoming and organized process for integrating new members into the life of the church, coordinating baptism preparation, and maintaining accurate attendance records. This role plays a vital part in supporting the spiritual growth and engagement of the church family, reflecting the values and mission of Green Acres Baptist Church.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None.


Duties/Responsibilities:    

  • Oversee specific budgets.
  • Plan for baptisms throughout the year over multiple campuses
  • Serve as a point of contact for prospective and new members, offering a welcoming presence and answering questions.
  • Maintain accurate records of new member information and ensure follow-up to encourage participation in church life.
  • Coordinate with ministry leaders to connect new members with discipleship opportunities, Connect Groups, and service teams.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to schedule and prepare for baptisms.
  • Guide baptism candidates and families through the preparation process, explaining the significance of baptism and church expectations.
  • Manage logistics for baptism services, including materials, certificates, and scheduling.
  • Manage database for membership, baptisms, and attendance, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare reports on membership and attendance for church leadership.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.
  • A team player willing to assist with tasks beyond the specific job description and collaborate across all ministries. 
  • Be a church member.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s preferred.
  • At least two years related experience is a plus. 


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the campus, mainly on Sundays.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
