3rd Shift Sanitation Technician Lead
Description

The lead Sanitation Technician is responsible for assisting the Sanitation Manager in leading the team and covering in the manager's absence. Responsibilities include cleaning areas of the building and grounds. This position is responsible for ensuring all cleaning follows SQF/Food Safety and HACCP guidelines throughout the process.


Responsibilities

  • Train, mentor, and assist sanitation technicians in all aspects of their duties
  • Fill in as leader in absence of the sanitation manager
  • Hand out work assignments and ensure the proper completion of those duties
  • Assist with environmental swabbing and record keeping
  • Clean all areas of the buildings and grounds following the proper procedures
  • Ensure all cleaning is by SQF/food safety and HACP guidelines
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times
  • Safely operate all sanitation equipment as trained
  • Perform preventative maintenance on sanitation equipment as needed
  • Effectively communicate with sanitation manager on issues or concerns in a timely manner
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment in a safe manner
  • Communicate safety issues to the manager of the supervisor on duty as they arise
  • Communicate with all departments as needed
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS diploma/GED equivalent
  • 5 years of cleaning experience, preferably in a food manufacturing setting
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures, work orders, safety data sheets, and other training materials related to food manufacturing and safety
  • Basic knowledge of operation and cleaning of equipment listed under the equipment used section
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment and perform preventative maintenance as needed 
  • Ability to move from one task to the next and back as needed with minimal downtime and supervision
  • Ability to fill out required paperwork with detailed notes and communication
  • Ability to verbally communicate issues, concerns, and needs as needed
  • Ability to work in varying hot and cold conditions
  • Basic computer knowledge. Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
