Description

Pyle's Pools manages lifeguard and monitor staffs for local community pools in the greater Indianapolis region of Indiana. We offer flexible summer positions, part time and full time hours are available, and competitive industry pay. Must be at least 15 years of age or older to apply.

Monrovia - Avon - Brownsburg - Zionsville - Westfield - Carmel - Fishers - Noblesville - Morse Reservoir - Geist Reservoir - Lawrence - Greenwood- Franklin - Camby - Southport - Pendleton - Indianapolis (Pike & Perry Township)

Duties and Responsibilities

Pyle's Pools lifeguards and pool monitors are responsible for monitoring all activities within the fenced in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to patrons by performing the following duties:

1. Enforce facility rules and regulations to prevent accidents or casualties; make rescues and administer first aid when necessary.

2. Complete all opening and closing checklists, reports, and records daily, found in the Lifeguard Binder at each facility.

3. Maintain cleanliness of pool facility during your shift.

4. Maintain rescue ready position in pool area at all times by performing proper surveillance and scanning, per the American Red Cross Standards outlined in the Lifeguard Binder.

5. Document accidents via incident reports and inform management in a timely manner.

6. Document any facility closures on the closure log in the guard binder. Immediately let management (Facility Manager and Human Resources) know about pool closures.

7. Inspect pool area and equipment daily to ensure all equipment is safe and in good working order.

8. Arrive to all assigned shifts 15 minutes early and stay through the conclusion of your shift.

9. Inform Management of all schedule changes and shift swaps through email, text, or GroupMe.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. All lifeguards must acquire and maintain certifications in CPR, AED, Lifeguarding and First Aid. If certifications aren’t acquired through Pyle’s Pools a copy must be provided to Human Resources. Pyle’s Pools will place a copy of lifeguard certifications at employee’s home facility. Lifeguards are always required to carry a copy of their current certifications in their fanny pack.
