Gate Attendant

  

Summary of Duties: Gate Attendants are the first friendly face to greet customers and are responsible for ensuring each guest has completed the proper paperwork as they enter Pitt Race. Learning the layout of the facility is essential for guiding guests to appropriate locations. Gate Attendants also distribute camping passes and collect certain customer payments.

Reporting Relationship: Gate Attendants work under the direction of the Track Operations Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Contribute to a culture based on reputation, respect, integrity, and dependability.
  • Ensure all guests complete appropriate track waivers. 
  • Direct visitors to appropriate area of facility. 
  • Communicate with management to announce arrivals.
  • Contact Admin or Pro Shop when a customer requests use of EV charging station.
  • Ensure correct distribution of camping passes.
  • Collect gate, camping, electric, and garage fees.
  • Properly secure cash and request cash drop/exchanges to maintain appropriate cash levels. 
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner. 
  • Communicate all relevant information during shift change.
  • Secure facility gates.
  • Complete facility security rounds.
  • Maintain familiarity with Pitt Race calendar of events and facility offerings.

Additional Duties:

PIRC personnel work as a supportive and interdependent team. Other duties will be assigned as needed and a willingness to assist other PIRC roles is expected.

Working Conditions: 

  • Exposure to hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions with access to a temperature-controlled Gate building between customer interactions. 
  • Extended periods of walking or standing. 
  • Working with computers and/or tablets.
  • Communicating via two-way radio.
  • Pulling/pushing facility gates to open and close.
  • Working with padlocks and tumbler locks.
  • Ability to complete CPR certification.
Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Basic math skills and ability to make change.
  • Valid drivers’ license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A general understanding of racetrack operations and a passion for motorsports.
Salary Description
$13 per hour
