Maintenance Staff

  

Summary of Duties:

Maintenance Staff are responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds of the facility in a safe and appealing state. 

Reporting Relationship: Maintenance Staff work under the direction of the Facility Operations Manager and the Maintenance Lead and work closely with others in the Operations department.

Essential Duties:

  • Contribute to a culture based on reputation, respect, integrity, and dependability.
  • Operate maintenance equipment (riding mowers, hand mowers, trimmers, tractors, weedwhackers, snow blowers, power washers, etc.).
  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides.
  • Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, and other outdoor facility features.
  • Clear snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spread salt or calcium as needed.
  • Maintain or repair structures (such as buildings or fences) using hand or power tools.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles or equipment to supervisor.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness, including trash removal and clean up after events.
  • Maintain guide rails and tire walls.
  • Ensure track surfaces are free of debris prior to events.
  • Assist track operations during race events, including bike pickup and cleanup of fluid spills on track.

Additional Duties:

  • Maintain work area and equipment in accordance with fire, safety, and security standards.
  • Respond to emergency situations as a member of the Emergency Security Team. 
  • Monitor on-track activities and respond to on-track incidents, provide assistance as necessary, and prepare on-track incident reports.
  • Relocate generators from storage as necessary and ensure all heating and cooling window units are unplugged and all central systems are turned off in case of power outages. 

PIRC personnel work as a supportive and interdependent team. Other duties will be assigned as needed and a willingness to assist other PIRC roles is expected. 

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible availability, including weekends.
  • Exposure to hot, cold, and inclement weather conditions as well as periodic high decibel noise on track. 
  • Extended periods of walking or standing.
  • Extended periods in a stationary position.
  • Communication via two-way radio.
  • Exposure to gasoline and common maintenance and groundskeeping chemicals.
  • Push and steer groundskeeping equipment.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing up downed motorcycles and pushing them onto and off of a trailer.
  • Emptying 55-gallon trash containers to dispose of trash or waste materials.
  • Ability to complete hands-on fire extinguisher training and CPR certification. 

Emergency Security Team

As part of the Maintenance team, you are also considered a part of the Emergency Security Team. In emergency situations, you may be called upon to:

  • Open evacuation routes, ensuring gates are unlocked and route is free of non-essential traffic.
  • Direct personnel to designated areas for crowd control. This includes perimeter security for any designated landing zone if an airlift is deemed necessary by MedEvac, in the event of a localized fire, or following a chemical spill/leak.
  • Restrict incident scenes, patient treatment areas, command centers, helicopter landing zones, emergency staging areas, and emergency personnel debriefing areas from media presence. 
  • Assist emergency services in the event of medical emergencies. 
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive vehicles or equipment to work areas around the facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in facility maintenance.
  • A general understanding of racetrack operations and a passion for motorsports.

$14 per hour
