JOB OVERVIEW:

Provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children to grow and learn while offering creative, athletic and educational activities. 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Maintain the childcare areas and environment in a healthy and safe manner. 
  • Check diapers every ½ hour and change as needed.
  • Create a pleasant, happy, supportive environment for members, guests, parents and children.
  • Secure proper paperwork on each participating child and familiarize yourself with areas of interest – especially allergies.  
  • Follow and maintain all licensing regulations as laid out during training. 
  • Follow parental instructions regarding child’s care and schedule, as well as any special requests as long as the requests follow our program policies and licensing regulations. 
  • Check voicemail when arriving and when the message light indicates and return calls immediately when received.   
  • Provide information in a positive and professional manner to customers regarding policies and procedures, as well as programming offered throughout The Sports Club.
  • Plan and provide a variety of educationally engaging activities for children utilizing the curriculum cleaning as you go.
  • Keep children in sight and sound and know how many children you are responsible for at all times by utilizing the daily sign-in/out sheets and counting the children regularly, especially when transitioning from one location to another.
  • Prioritize children's needs with any activities while maintaining safe practices.
  • Charge daily tickets and turn in any monies to the front desk.
  • Check email every day and share messages with co-workers.
  • Log off the computer before leaving for the day.
  • Mentor, train, support and reinforce policies and procedures with new team members.
  • Mentor, train, support and reinforce the correct way to charge daily tickets with new team members.
  • Pass pertinent information to co-workers regarding children when shift is over.
  • Communicate in an honest and positive way with parents about children’s time with us while maintaining the confidentiality of all the children in our care.
  • Pass important information from parents to the Childcare and Activities Manager.
  • Participate in planning and implementing engaging activities for the morning and afternoon.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with supervisor regarding overstaffing.
  • Abide by policies and procedures established in The Boar’s Head Employee Handbook and The Family Program News.
  • Maintain and perform opening and closing duties on a daily basis and check-out with supervisor each day.
  • Maintain accurate records of standing reservations in the book and on the reservation sheets within ratio guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records on all children, care and daily numbers. 
  • Treat all co-workers in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Sweep areas on a daily basis.
  • Mop and vacuum as needed and in the absence of Housekeeping.
  • Maintain copies of the reservation sheets and daily sign-in/out logs.
  • Participate in room decoration (bulletin board) and organization.
  • Sanitize toys and keep cubby areas clean and tidy.
  • Create and maintain cubby labels for children.
  • Participate in departmental programs for children.
  • Create and post signs and sign-in sheets regarding upcoming departmental events.
  • Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned. 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS


Essential:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of supervised programmatic experience working with children.
  • Willing to participate in Department of Social Services.  
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Ability to function as a part of a team. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours Saturday through Friday and some holidays, with various and mixed age groups.
  • Ability to lead a group of children in creative, athletic and educational activities while maintaining a safe and orderly group.
  • Proven ability to:
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail.
  • Prioritize and organize.
  • Resolve problems calmly using good judgment.
  • Work independently.
  • Work effectively with managers and co-workers.
  • Understand guest needs and solve them proactively


Desirable:

  • Computer knowledge and experience.
  • An endorsement or credential in a child-related field.
