ARC is currently seeking an experienced and strategic Mechanical Engineer. The candidate will work with senior engineers as well as independently to design, build, document, and support mechanical assemblies used in industrial automated test and manufacturing equipment. Candidates must be able to obtain secret clearance.

Requirements

Responsibilities


· Use contemporary solid modeling and CAD tools to design mechanical enclosures, actuators, and contactors for use in commercial and industrial test and automation systems.


· Contribute to the overall conceptual design


· Structure and delegate sub-assemblies to drafters, Jr. Engineers, and/or sub-contractors as required to reduce design to fabrication lead time and improve on-time-delivery (OTD)


· Research component choices for suitability of use, alternatives, and cost


· Design for manufacture and reduce overall fabrication and assembly cost


· Prepare documentation for, attend, and lead technical interchange meetings with customers and vendors.


· Build up parts lists and work with project managers to submit components for purchasing


· Assist assemblers and operations technicians with the construction of the designed systems


· Assist software and electrical engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and integrating the designs


· Adhere to ARC standards and processes


· General knowledge of (QMS) Quality Management Systems



Skills


· An understanding of mechanical design principles, including materials theory and a ability to read and interpret customer fabrication and assembly drawings


· Experience with the use of contemporary schematic capture software and 3D design software (Solidworks and Autocad LT preferred)


· Experience with Solidworks PDM or other similar data management software.


· Some experience with the use of common test equipment (Multimeters, O’scopes, DAQs, Spectrum Analyzers etc.) is expected.


· Self-motivated, proactive with a positive attitude and a willingness to be hands-on with engineering projects


· Must work well within an engineering team as well as independently and without constant supervision


· Ability to think and act quickly in a fast-paced environment


· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure deadlines are met


· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high degree of computer/software savvy
