Description

High Side Technology has an immediate need for a senior-level software engineer or data scientist to support the research and engineering initiatives of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) analysis programs for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients. The engineer/scientist will provide technical guidance and software systems engineering support for the development and implementation of GEOINT analysis and exploitation services. This position will work as part of an integrated government/contractor team in supporting new technology research and engineering initiatives.


Requirements

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering/scientific expertise to GEOINT exploitation services programs; assist with the development and management of data analytics, algorithms and modeling, tradecraft governance and proliferation, and rules and alerting capabilities to implement exploitation workflows addressing DoD/IC mission priorities.
  • Define, plan, coordinate, and guide various technical initiatives (e.g. performance analysis, feasibility studies, constraint evaluation, cost/benefit analysis) for execution of system-level functional requirements definition and resolution of interface issues.
  • Provide research and engineering support to inform and guide the development and transition of new GEOINT analysis and exploitation technologies. Assess, evaluate, and inform new GEOINT analysis and exploitation technologies including specialized processing algorithms and machine learning (ML) models.
  • Ensure the establishment of complete and accurate system-level functional/performance requirements that are traceable from strategic capabilities to validated customer and operations needs/requirements, and consistent with the program’s architecture objectives and acquisition strategy.
  • Define the milestones and control gate success criteria and evaluate entry/exit readiness during design reviews and audits to ensure protection of baselines and to assist in risk identification and resolution.
  • Provide technical coordination, architecture guidance, and support for analysis capabilities development/implementation, technical road-mapping, and budget development.
  • Plan and support data management practices to efficiently process and manage data for GEOINT analysis and production.

Desired Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.
  • Expert-level experience in government or industry in data management or Big Data analysis.
  • Experience integrating solutions using Cloud-based technologies
  • Demonstrated senior level experience leading technology development and technical integration efforts
  • Demonstrated senior level experience leading multi-system integration efforts through requirements definition, development, testing and transition.

Additional Desired Experience:

  • Experience with processes, tools, and languages pertaining to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience engineering solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data, AI, and Cloud-based technologies
  • Demonstrated senior level experience integrating Geospatial Intelligence systems
  • Demonstrated senior level experience in systems engineering and integration of large complex system of systems of service-centric/Cloud environments
  • The Engineer/Scientist will work on government site and as part of a distributed multi-disciplinary team. This position requires interaction with government customers at all levels of authority and technical acuity and requires the ability to communicate technical and programmatic information through excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

  • United States citizenship required
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance or current Top Secret SSBI with TS/SCI eligibility required; counterintelligence (CI) polygraph required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field
  • 8+ years of experience
