The Technician position will be working in TGen's CLIA (BSL-2) lab located in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor, the Laboratory Technician will perform tasks related to specimen accessioning, aliquoting, and RNA extractions. The Laboratory Technician will prepare reagents for use, aliquot specimens, check for any discrepancies between labels, among other duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager or Team leader. They will follow specific protocols in the lab for each of these tasks, as well as prepare reagents for use, enter data on samples, clean the laboratory, stop supplies, and other duties as assigned.
In order to be successful in this environment, you must be able to commit to:
Working up to eight hours per day on a fixed shift, continuously performing repetitive tasks, good pipetting skills
Adhering without deviation to standard operating procedures
Providing absolutely respect of the clock to keep production moving
Having a willingness to work with samples containing the virus that causes COVID-19 (with appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to standard biosafety procedures.)
High School Diploma
Interest in helping support a clinical PCR lab and experience with some basic lab skills (e.g. pipetting)
