Description
  •  Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members.
  •  Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider.
  •  Retrieves patient files from the cabinet, checks for the correct sequence of papers, inserts new patient record forms, and places files in sequence for physician examination or treatment.
  •  Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding providers of service delays.
  • Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary.
  • Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition. Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.

Employment Type:

  •  Full time.
  •  Shift-Based (3-4 Days/Week).
  •  Weekdays: 12- hour shifts (9:00 AM - 9:00 PM).
  •  Weekends: 8-hour shifts (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
  •  Alternate Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend off.

Requirements
  •  Medical assisting and Patient care skills.
  • Basic office skills such as typing and filing.
  • Good organizational skills.
  •  Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Familiarity with managing Medical Records.
  • Experience in Medical Office Procedures.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. 
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
  •  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  •  Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Salary Description
$14.75 to $18.25 per hour estimated pay.
