- Salary range: $83,050-$95,508 per year, commensurate with experience
Who You Are
The Senior Staff Accountant will work in partnership with the Staff Accountant, Director of Accounting, and CFO to provide analysis and accounting support. This position is responsible for performing higher-level accounting and financial functions required for planning, controlling, and reporting financial operations of Healthy Alliance. This position is an integral role in the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, providing support for Healthy Alliance’s strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long-term goals.

What You’ll Do
- Perform the day-to-day accounting operations in collaboration with the Staff Accountant, maintaining all aspects of general ledger and accounts receivable/payables.
- Maintain internal accounting practices/procedures and internal controls designed to safeguard the assets of the organization and verify the integrity of financial information.
- Provide back-up support to the Staff Accountant for weekly receivable/payable processes, including accurate coding and approvals. Ensure complete and accurate vendor files.
- Review daily cash reconciliations prepared by the Staff Accountant.
- Review monthly bank and credit card statement reconciliations to ensure accurate coding and that all documentation is on file.
- Prepare financial entries for payroll/personnel transactions including intercompany allocations.
- Manage all aspects of general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports for month-end and year-end closing processes internally and with external partners.
- Maintain monthly and annual account workpapers and coordinate audit with external financial auditors.
- Process network deliverable payments for capacity building; maintain a database to ensure accurate reporting for Healthy Alliance government contracts and producing internal reports as needed.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams.
- Assist with development of the annual budget and spend plan.
- Participate in the development of the organization’s financial plans and programs.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries; develop financial analytics/ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Advises upper management and makes recommendations on internal control improvements.
- Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Meet with stakeholders to streamline communication and add transparency regarding project issues and decisions on services.
- Manage processes for forecasting and budgeting application.
- Assist the Director of Accounting with Committee meeting administration.
- Assist in managing weekly/monthly cash flow needs and reports.
- Assist in compilation/reconciliation of revenue and receivable financial data.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent work experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
Professional Work Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field required. Experience with related-entity transactions and NetSuite preferred.
- Non-profit industry background preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.).
- Outstanding communicator with strong oral and written skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
