What You’ll Do:
As a Digital Marketing Intern (SEO) Intern at Whisker, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our online presence, driving organic growth, and enhancing user experience. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our SEO Lead and Performance Marketing Director to contribute to various aspects of search engine optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conducts keyword research and analysis to identify strategic keywords for content optimization
- Implements on-page and off-page SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings including meta data review, backlink outreach and more
- Reviews and enhances content on key pages, including our ecommerce section
- Writes compelling blog articles using different sources and data points
- Collaborates with content creators to ensures SEO best practices are integrated into content development
- Conducts competitor analysis and finds new opportunities
- Optimizes Youtube and TikTok videos to increase visibility on search engine results pages and in-platform results
- Optimizes images to improve ADA compliance and increase our presence in search results
- Monitors and analyzes website performance using SEO tools and analytics
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends and search engine algorithm updates
- Provides recommendations for website improvements based on SEO analysis
- Analyzes SEO performance metrics and provides actionable insights
- Addresses internal linking issues and thinks strategically about our website’s structure
What You’ll Bring:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and best practices
- Experience writing content (blog articles, essays…)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with Google sheets, docs, and slides
- Junior or Senior-level academic experience
- Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
- A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
- Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
Not Required but Nice to Have!
- Previous internship experience
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or Javascript.
- Familiarity with Magento CMS
- Experience managing a website or business listings
- Experience managing Wikipedia pages
- Experience with Google tools (Google analytics, Google Search Console, Looker Studio…)
