As a member of the FlexCold team, the Maintenance Technician I, works independently with limited supervision performing routine general maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse including but not limited to general refrigeration, dock door/levelers, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance as needed. Position must follow all regulatory and company safety standards, policies and procedures when performing these tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all repairs and preventative maintenance work in accordance with OSHA and FlexCold standards.
- Perform visual inspections of refrigeration systems daily.
- Identify problems, report to general manager and call refrigeration provider for details on how to proceed.
- Complete and evaluate daily logs pertaining to the temperatures, pressure, and general operation of the refrigeration system.
- Performs visual inspections of all operating equipment throughout warehouse to ensure compliance with OSHA and FlexCold operational standards.
- Must maintain accurate preventative maintenance records.
- Answer security alarm calls as needed.
- Conduct/maintain records of tests performed on safety equipment (Exit signs, fire extinguishers, sprinkler system, etc.) to ensure OHSA and FlexCold operational standards are met.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on external equipment and grounds to include painting, paving repairs, etc.
- Performs other maintenance related work as requested.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- HS diploma.
- 2+ years maintenance experience or relevant technical school certification program.
- Knowledge of general refrigeration practices.
- Basic electrical instrumentation experience.
- Knowledge of various types of equipment in maintenance trades.
- General knowledge of computers (email, internet searches, data entry, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit while wearing company provided PPE and outside ambient temperatures.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights in excess of 50 ft.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.
- Ability to tolerate heights up to 50 ft and be able to access elevated product from inside safety cage.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate is required to be able to constantly sit, stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The associate is required to grasp or feel objects with the hand, reach above, below and at waist level, twist, squat, kneel and lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs. Ability to work in cold and below freezing temperatures. Fluency in English is a prerequisite for ensuring both the safe and effective performance of all job duties and the successful operation of all FlexCold, LLC’s business practices.
