Summary
We are seeking a skilled, focused Cook with a passion for food preparation and experience in kitchen operations. A Cook 1 performs the basic tasks required to prepare, cook, bake, and dispense food items according to menu. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important. The ideal candidate can prepare nutritious, delicious and attractive food to be served at the appropriate temperature. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele.
Cook 1 Job Responsibilities
- Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals.
- Executes cold food production in accordance with standards of plating guide specifications.
- Attends to the detail and presentation of each order.
- Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
- Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
- Adheres to proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas, including scheduled cleaning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
