Logistics Supervisor
Description

The Logistics Supervisor will oversee all material movements between manufacturing buildings, including forklifts, semi-truck, truck, and crane operations. This role is responsible for the organization of all materials stored outside, the storage and shipping yard for finished products, and coordinating semi-trucks for product pickup. The Logistics Supervisor will ensure efficient layout and management of the yard. 

Requirements
  • Supervise the coordination of all material movements between manufacturing buildings using forklifts, semi-trucks, and trucks.
  • Work with production and warehouse staff to ensure efficient and timely material movements to meet the needs of production schedules.
  • Organize and manage the storage of materials outside the manufacturing buildings.
  • Oversee the storage and shipping yard for finished products, ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
  • Coordinate with semi-truck drivers for the timely pickup of finished products.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient layout for the yard to optimize operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Train and supervise logistics staff, including forklift operators and yard personnel.
  • Implement and maintain effective logistics processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to logistics activities.
  • Manage employee performance, resolve concerns, and make hiring, corrective action and employment decisions.
  • Follow all established quality guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow established safety guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as requested. 

Educational Requirements/Degree: 

Bachelor’s Degree in business or management preferred.

High school education required.  


Job Requirements/Knowledge of Experience:   

  • 5 years experience supervising or leading a team in a logistics capacity.
  • Good judgment and ability to work with others at all levels.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve production or equipment problems.
  • Excellent communication, particularly listening, skills.
  • Complete knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements, with clear understanding and ability to perform each function under supervision.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, or industrial electrical wiring processes, depending upon area of responsibility.
  • Flexibility with work hours, including Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
