Description

White River Materials, Inc. is seeking an Quarry Laborer/ Off-Road Truck Driver for its operation. This job involves operating off-road trucks to transport materials within a quarry, performing pre-shift inspections, and assisting with quary maintenance, while also engaging in manual labor tasks as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of operating off-road trucks. The role requires not only the operation of heavy machinery but also adherence to safety protocols and regulations set forth by the company and MSHA. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily pre-and post-inspections of the equipment, ensuring that all documentation is completed in compliance with company policies. Additionally, the driver will be expected to perform routine servicing and maintenance on the haul trucks as directed by management. Effective communication skills are essential for this position, as the driver will need to interact with team members and supervisors regularly. The role demands a high degree of competency and skill in operating the equipment, as well as a dedication to following all safety procedures. The work environment can be challenging, requiring the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises. The candidate must also be willing to assist with general laborer duties and clean-up tasks as needed, demonstrating a team-oriented attitude. Flexibility in working hours is necessary, as the position may require overtime and extended hours. A pre-employment drug screening is mandatory for all candidates.


Responsibilities:

  • Operating off-road trucks to safely move material within the quarry.
  • Perform daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance on equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Adhere to quarry traffic rules, routes, and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Follow all company policies and MSHA Environmental regulations for safe working procedures.
  • Help with various maintenance tasks in the quarry, such as cleaning, organizing, and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Perform manual labor tasks as directed, which may include shoveling, raking, or using hand tools.
  • Operate light or heavy equipment, such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, or tampers, as needed.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Dedication to safe work practices.
  • Previous experience operating off-road trucks is a must.
  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be reliable with a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull/push, as well as bend and lift 50 lbs.
