Summary
The Benefits Support Specialist assists with the service needs of the Benefits Department and clients by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build, update, and maintain client accounts in the Employee Navigator platform, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Configure benefits plans, eligibility rules, and workflows based on client specifications.
- Perform routine audits to verify data accuracy and compliance with client needs and regulations.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and manage payroll and carrier data integrations within the Employee Navigator system.
- Work closely with carriers, payroll providers, and clients to ensure seamless data transmission and resolve integration issues.
- Monitor integration performance and address errors proactively.
- Prepare RFPs, renewal and new business proposals, presentation materials, open enrollment materials and supporting documents as necessary.
- Create benefit summaries for clients using specified software.
- Provide responses or problem resolution to all client requests regarding enrollment issues including ordering ID cards, processing enrollment forms, and checking enrollment status.
- Research and resolve billing and eligibility issues.
- Process adds, terms and QE changes on carrier websites and in online admin portals.
- Updates agency management systems (documents, emails, phone calls, contracts, internal processes and procedures, etc.).
- Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years of administrative support experience in the insurance industry.
- Prior experience with Employee Navigator or similar HRIS/benefits administration platforms is required.
- Active Accident, Sickness and Life Insurance license a plus.
- Strong understanding of benefits administration, payroll processes, and carrier integrations.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks with minimal guidance in order to meet deadlines.
- Good oral and written communication skills to articulate key information.
- Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
- High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation.
- Self-starter and work with direction and taking ownership of areas of responsibility.
