Position Overview
As a Landscape Designer & Sales Representative, you will play a dual role in both creating exceptional landscape designs and guiding clients through the sales process. This position offers a unique opportunity for a designer with strong communication skills to be directly involved in the sales and client engagement process.
Your role will be hybrid, requiring a flexible work environment that includes remote work, in the field, and in the office as needed.
Responsibilities
Design & Planning
- Meet with clients to understand their vision, needs, and budget for landscape projects.
- Conduct site analysis, taking measurements, assessing topography, and evaluating existing landscape features.
- Develop creative, functional, and sustainable landscape designs that align with client goals.
- Create detailed site plans, 3D renderings, and construction drawings for client presentations and project execution.
- Select appropriate materials, plants, and hardscape elements based on aesthetics, functionality, budget, and climate.
- Ensure designs comply with zoning regulations, HOA guidelines, and safety standards.
- Present designs to clients, incorporate feedback, and make necessary revisions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, innovative design techniques, and new materials.
Sales & Client Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through the sales process with confidence and professionalism.
- Clearly communicate the value of high-quality landscape design and construction.
- Work closely with the sales team and project managers to provide comprehensive solutions for landscape and hardscape projects.
- Develop strong client relationships through networking and proactive communication.
- Utilize LMN (Landscape Management Network) for client information management, scheduling, and pricing.
- Ensure that projects are sold at a minimum 25% net profit margin based on the current budget in LMN.
- Accurately track all sales activities, follow-ups, and client interactions.
Collaboration & Execution
- Partner with the project management team to ensure smooth execution of approved designs.
- Provide guidance during the installation phase to maintain design integrity.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to enhance the customer experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Competitive annual salary (dependent on experience).
- Commission:
- 3% Immediate Commission: Paid on all paid invoices, regardless of project profitability.
- 3% Escrowed Commission: Paid quarterly, contingent upon project completion and a minimum 40% gross margin.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree or certification in Landscape Design, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in landscape design and/or sales (preferred).
- Strong understanding of grading, elevations, drainage, and material selection.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar design software.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of hardscape and landscape construction practices.
- Strong ability to balance creativity, technical accuracy, and sales strategy.
