This Role will be Based out of our TAMPA, FLORIDA Headquarters. This role is NOT eligible for Sponsorship.
Overall Responsibility: Utilize accounting knowledge and experience to ensure accounting records are accurate; perform analysis on both account balances and actual to budget variances; and prepare financial reports for internal and external use.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare journal entries and schedules that support month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the commissions process, calculating commissions due each month, preparing journal entries to expense commissions as appropriate and tracking the remaining deferred balances.
- Review account reconciliations for key accounts to ensure transactions are booked accurately and timely in the correct accounts.
- Research variances in key account balances and explain variances between actuals and forecast/budget to management.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and financial analysis for presentation to department heads, executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Collaborate with the accounting team and management to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Produce ad hoc analysis, reports and other projects as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other accounting team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.
- Assist in identifying potential process improvements, documenting new policies and procedures and contributing to sound internal control development.
- Cross train with other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus a minimum of Six (6) years of progressive experience in accounting or finance. BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance or related field preferred. Or High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience in the field.
Other Relevant Education/Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, Sage Intacct preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with emphasis on communicating to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
