Instruct K-12 students on technology skills according to the K-12 California Computer Science Standards. This includes, but is not limited to keyboarding, computational thinking, word processing, and digital citizenship.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Have a vast knowledge of various Web 2.0 applications. Examples: Kahoot, EdPuzzle, Google Apps for Education, Padlet, etc.
- Maintain a clean environment in the computer lab. Wiping down equipment as needed.
- Report any misuse of technology to the proper outlets.
- Keep track of the K-8 laptop cart and iPads, making sure they are properly charging.
- Exhibit proper classroom management unique to a computer lab environment.
- Perform formative and summative assessments of each student using that information to adjust each week’s lessons.
- Create and submit weekly lesson plans for each grade level (K-5) as well as for the 6-12 elective(s).
- Manage student log-in information to various curriculum websites.
- Administer STAR Reading assessments to students in grades 3-5.
- Support with lunch and recess duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree.
- Credential: State teaching credential strongly recommended.
- Credential: ACSI teaching credential required if state credential is not valid. If candidate hasn't completed either credential, he or she must be willing to complete ACSI credential during employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position’s duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are dynamic. This requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The employee will be using his or her personal vehicle; therefore, he or she must hold a valid driver’s license in the state where he or she is based and have appropriate auto insurance as required by law. The employee needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work assignments, and do well under pressure. He or she must also demonstrate professionalism and integrity, take initiative, and exercise confidentiality. Finally, the employee must understand and apply all school policies and procedures, follow instructions, be detailed oriented, and have good follow-through on all projects.
