 The Position 


The Employee Relations Specialist will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace environment by assisting with day-to-day employee relations matters, complex investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions, performance management, employee satisfaction engagement and training initiatives. The Employee Relations Specialist will use effective interviewing and documentation techniques and utilize the designated case management tool for tracking and maintaining required documentation including intake and investigation notes, supporting documents, final reports and/or evidence of actions taken. The Employee Relations Specialist will ensure compliance with employment laws and Aria’s policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records, and staying informed about changes in labor laws and industry best practices to advise the organization accordingly.


Requirements

Conduct prompt, thorough, and objective workplace investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, provide mediation and advice while ensuring confidentiality and aligning with compliance regulations.


Conduct and process employee corrective actions including preparing associated documents. Enter employee counseling records into the tracking system and generate monthly reports.

Offers strategic advice to management on best practices and compliance. As well as provide consultations to employees on policies, guidelines, procedures, and employee law.


Prepare internal analysis, data, trend information, patterns, and activities that support employment-related initiatives.


Actively contribute to achievement of departmental goals including specific departmental process improvement plans. Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelor's degree or 4 years of experience in Human Resources or a related field in lieu of degree required.


HR Certification preferred.


Work Experience (Years and Area): 2 years of experience of Human Resources in addition to 2 years of Employee Relations experience conducting internal investigations required.


Software Proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment


Demonstrated knowledge of employment law.


Exceptional written and verbal communication is a key deliverable in this role.

Good problem-solving ability.


Knowledge/exposure to/understanding of: Title VII, ADAA, FMLA, ADEA, federal, state and local laws, statutes, which govern employment policies and practices preferred.


Knowledge/exposure of employee relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution, grievance handling, and related matters preferred.
