Description

Provide operation of the Food and Beverage operations at the City's Golf Course snack bars and banquet rooms. Promote, expand and build upon events requiring food and beverage services. Exhibit and promote strong customer service standards. Prepare high quality food for grill and events at the golf course. Help promote and expand food and beverage events at the golf course.


Starting Pay: $21.64 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, 40-hours per week. Flexible schedule required, including weekends and holidays.

Job Responsibilities

  • High quality food preparation and following food safety procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors, staff, golf operations, and the public to ensure efficient operation of the food and beverage division.
  • Perform duties to keep the grill visually pleasing, clean, and safe through regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Work as an equal team member with the pro-shop, maintenance and F&B staff.
  • Ensure the operations are safe and employees are protected, and the operation complies with all safety laws and regulations. Report any potentially dangerous or harmful situations to a manager immediately.
  • Assist in hiring and training of part time staff to work in the grill and events.
  • Assist with food and beverage events, whether public use, events, weddings, golf tournaments, etc.
  • Evaluate menu items regularly to add new products, adjust pricing and establish appropriate cost of goods margins for products offered.
  • Assist with marketing efforts for the food and beverage division.
  • Assist in keeping all employees certified, as necessary, with food handling and alcohol serving, and other pertinent certifications.
  • Assist in ensuring the establishments is properly licensed and have all required permits.
  • Complete all check lists daily.
Requirements
  • Knowledge in recreation as well as Food and Beverage.
  • Ability to coordinate and expedite events which require any type of food or beverage.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with entire staff and the public, maintain a congenial rapport with all those he/she comes in contact with.
  • Skill in planning and assigning work schedules and jobs.
  • Ability to keep accurate records, suggest and follow a budget, act independently and make sound judgments and decisions; process and balance cash receipts within the guidelines of the Finance Department.
  • Must have a current food handlers permit, alcohol serving certification, and other permits necessary to operate the concessions.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required. Post high school education preferred.
  • Food & beverage, catering, and bartending experience preferred.
  • Experience in Food and Beverage Management preferred.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must possess a valid Utah driver's license or have the ability to obtain a valid Utah State Driver license within 30 days.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Serve Safe Management certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain current alcohol service certifications and training.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a food handlers permit.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand and arms; talk or hear.
  • The employee is required to stand or balance.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision of abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • A combination of office and hands on work such as: cooking, serving, bussing, front counter, beverage cart and interacting with customers on a daily basis.
  • Intermittent exposure to stress as a result of pressure and human behavior.
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends to meet scheduled events. Intermittent exposure to long hours during, but not limited to busy seasonal demands
