Description

Dr. Hebert Chan is seeking a skilled and dedicated part-time Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join his team. As an assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Your expertise and professionalism will contribute to the success of our practice and the overall oral health of our patients.


What you’ll be accountable for:

  • Clinical Support: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to, restorative, surgical, exams, and cleanings. Prepare and arrange dental instruments, materials, and medications as needed.
  • Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring their comfort and answering any questions they may have. Obtain and record patient's dental history and vital signs, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, as well as maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Radiography: Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as per dentist's instructions. Ensure proper patient positioning and radiation safety measures are followed.
  • Educational Support: Instruct patients on oral hygiene practices, post-operative care, and preventive measures. Educate patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage patient records, update treatment plans, and assist front office with scheduling patient appointments as needed.

**Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The hourly wage range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00 per hour, depending on experience.**

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by California state
  • Highly organized and attentive to patients’ needs with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Must be able to explain procedures and educate patients.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and exhibit a compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • 2-3+ years experience preferred.
  • Open Dental experience a plus
