Description

Responsible to set up, prepare and maintain bars and service areas.

  • Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
  • Request and/or retrieve additional supplies as necessary, stock the bar and fill out proper logs for billing
  • Follow set up procedures, to include retrieving ice
  • Prepare garnishes, mixes, and pre-mixed drinks
  • Greet members and guests
  • Report complaints to a manager as soon as they occur
  • Maintain and clean bar area and equipment and take out trash/recycles
  • Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to ensure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other standards of the department are met
  • Maintain records of liquors, beers, wine, and sundries to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times
  • Clean and lock up the bar area according to prescribed procedures
  • Attend staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions as required
  • Continually practice beverage and revenue control procedures
  • Thank members and guests and invite them to return
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED 
  • Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Or any similar combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated polished, professional appearance and presentation
  • Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and ability to multi-task in a sporadic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Strong reasoning ability and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents
  • Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, bend, twist, crawl, climb, clean, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
  • Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
  • Independent mobility
