Description

LAC Federal is seeking a seeking a motivated and talented Senior Visual Information Specialist to join our team. The Specialist will provide professional visual information (VI) support to develop approximately 800 VI products annually, utilizing software products including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium, OR Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and After Effects to enhance command communication initiatives. This role involves multimedia production, video editing, graphic design, and event coverage across various platforms, including digital signage, social media, and websites.

This position requires expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, professional studio lighting, and advanced audio/video recording techniques to deliver high-impact communication materials.

The ideal candidate will have a background in developing visual information and graphic art products for various platforms including print, exhibits, web-page design, digital audio/video, and online media. The candidate must possess knowledge in graphic design, be proficient in running graphic production equipment, and demonstrate proficiency in relevant software applications.


Responsibilities: 

  • Graphic & Visual Design: Create brochures, posters, logos, exhibits, and custom-framed plaques.
  • Video Production & Editing: Capture, edit, and produce broadcast-quality videos, including documentaries, event coverage, and promotional content, using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Multimedia Content Creation: Develop 3D models, animations, simulations, and interactive multimedia products.
  • Audio-Visual Event Support: Provide A/V setup and technical support for events such as awards ceremonies, symposia, and live broadcasts.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to DoD, Navy, and Section 508 accessibility standards for all audiovisual materials.
  • Workflow & Project Management: Maintain job-tracking systems, assign tracking numbers, document requests, and manage metadata.
  • Creative Direction & Execution: Work with Government SMEs for storyboarding, scripting, and pre/post-production tasks, ensuring high-quality storytelling.
  • Motion Graphics & Special Effects: Design national industry-level motion graphics, special effects, and 3D animations for video products 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, communications, graphic design or animation.
  • May substitute seven (7) years of highly relevant experience in developing visual information and graphic art products for various print, exhibit, web-page design, digital audio/video, and on-line media for a degree
  • Expertise in designing and developing visual information and graphic art products with demonstrated knowledge and capable of running graphic production equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expert in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud Production Premium or Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in designing and developing visual information and graphic art products.
  • Understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Ability to run and maintain graphic production equipment effectively.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a military or government setting.
  • Active SECRET Clearance
  • Knowledge of Navy-specific visual information guidelines and standards.

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while   working at a computer workstation or during multimedia production and      editing sessions.
  • Must have fine motor skills and manual dexterity to operate computers, cameras, audio/visual equipment, and various graphic      production tools and software.
  • Capability to lift, carry, and set up equipment such as cameras, lighting kits, audio gear, and display materials, weighing up to 40      pounds.
  • Must have the ability to distinguish color, contrast, and detail for design accuracy and quality control in visual media      products.
  • Requires visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks such as video editing, camera operation, and motion graphic      design with precision.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, or reach occasionally when installing equipment, setting up for events, or accessing materials in      storage areas.
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to various event locations or off-site filming environments, which may require walking, climbing stairs, or extended periods of standing during shoots.
  • Must have the ability to work in studio or field environments where lighting, sound levels, and equipment setup may vary.
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in person and through written instructions, to      collaborate with teams and stakeholders during production.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
