Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforce and follow all Classic Rock Fabrication (CRF) Safety Procedures and CRF Driving Policies.
  • Fit all horizontal and vertical seams to company standards.
  • Set tops as close as practical to the same plane as the cabinets, including cooktops.
  • Support tops every 4 to 6 inches at sink and cooktop fronts, as well as any gaps of 1/16” between the top and cabinet.

  • Use color-matched adhesive in all seams when possible.
  • Understand how to add color to glue to enhance seam blending; recognize that Chameleon is not a fix-all for all colors.
  • Polish and blend the profiles of any seam to achieve a smooth, consistent finish, feathering out the polish to avoid dips.
  • Verify that all seams are checked for flatness with a razor blade before the seam is completely dry.
  • Support large (heavy) under-mount sinks with a wood frame and seal to the tops with a solid bead of silicone.
  • Support small (light) under-mount sinks with clips.
  • Ensure sinks include a “beauty” bead of silicone between the sink and stone after mounting to prevent water intrusion.
  • Caulk the top of the splash to the wall with paintable silicone when noted.
  • Caulk all vertical and horizontal joints of the splash; seams are to be set with Integra or knife-grade (2-part) glue.
  • Caulk tops to cabinets and walls at the end of the runs, applying a solid bead of silicone sealant where needed.
  • Ensure tops have a consistent overhang, except where cabinets do not allow.
  • Use drop cloths and vacuums when performing field cutouts inside to minimize dust and debris.
  • Conduct field cutouts at the end of the install.
  • Thoroughly clean and inspect the job site, both inside and outside, prior to leaving.
  • Submit Octane documentation before leaving the job site.
  • Submit supply requests to keep trucks stocked at all times.
  • Clearly mark and/or label all pieces returned to the shop.
  • Wear steel-toe boots at all times.
  • Wear a hard hat and fluorescent shirt/vest at all commercial sites.
  • Take pictures of the finished job site, including overall views, seams, sinks, and any potential issues.
  • Ability to cut, edge polish, create notches, cut outlets, and cut out blanks without damaging the final product.
