Delivery Driver

SUMMARY

The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting materials, equipment, and other items between our warehouse, job sites, and other locations throughout the Midwest. This position will also assist with daily warehouse operations, including loading and unloading materials, receiving, staging, and organizing inventory. As our workload continues to grow, we are looking for someone who can support both our warehouse and delivery needs and help keep operations running efficiently.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• None.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for deliveries to the job sites.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of pre-trip Inspections, truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule, reports abnormalities in pre-trip inspections, larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to drive safely.

Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.

Ability to plan deliveries, load and unload materials to job sites all over the Midwest.

Ability to maintain basic logs and records.

Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.

Ability to conduct Pre-Trip Inspection

Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
• Experience driving box trucks and flatbed trucks preferred.
• Experience driving pickup trucks with trailers is a strong plus.
• A valid Class C non-CDL driver’s license is a strong plus.
• A valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card) is a strong plus.
• Previous experience with delivery driving, material transportation, or similar work preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays in hotels.
• Comfortable spending extended periods on the road and traveling throughout the Midwest.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
• Prolonged periods sitting in driver’s seat.
