The ideal candidate will have a combination of skills that cater to People functions in a corporate environment. This role will focus on the coordination of recruitment activities and help with various HR functions. The Recruiting & HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Manager while partnering with leaders throughout the organization to enable hiring goals and HR initiatives.

MCi’s headquarters is located in Houston, TX. This position’s primary work location will be in the Houston office on a hybrid schedule.
Duties and responsibilities
Recruiting:
- Proactively partner with hiring managers to forecast and support hiring needs throughout the company
- Post job openings on various job boards and maintain all internal job descriptions
- Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) by updating candidate records and providing recruiting metrics
HR:
- Coordinate onboarding resources and new hire planning
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies
- Assist in drafting and distributing HR documents, policies, and reports
- Support HR initiatives and projects (i.e. employee engagement programs, succession planning, and salary benchmarking)
- Respond to employee inquiries about HR-related matters and escalate as needed
General Support:
- Houston office support of day-to-day activities and monthly events
- Assisting the Accounting department or President with administrative duties as needed
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office suite (required)
- Familiarity with HR software or an applicant tracking system (preferred)
- Prior experience in an administrative or HR-related role with customer-service mindset
