POSITION SUMMARY

Benedictine College invites professionals within the fields of sports management (preferred), kinesiology, and exercise science to apply for a full-time faculty position in their rapidly growing Health, Wellness, and Exercise Science Department. 


This Assistant or Associate Professor position starts in Fall 2025. Main responsibilities pertaining to teaching:

  • Foundations of Human Movement
  • First Aid & Personal Safety
  • Organization and Administration
  • Sports Management Practicum
  • Wellness for Life
  • Sport Psychology

Other potential courses to teach or curriculum to develop:

  • Sport Nutrition
  • Personal and Community Health
  • Tests and Measurements
  • Fitness courses (such as: Beginning Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Dance Classes, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 12 credits of classes per academic semester
  • Actively participate in department meetings and growth planning 
  • Update current sports management curriculum
  • Serve as an academic advisor to department majors and minors
  • Engage in appropriate faculty service.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should hold a master’s or terminal degree in sports management, exercise science, kinesiology, or associated fields. Doctorate degree preferred. Individuals with a personal and professional growth mindset are encouraged to apply. The following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fields related to Sports Management, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, and/or Kinesiology
  • Preferred certification in:
  • First Aid/CPR/AED through American Red Cross or American Heart Association 
  • Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
