Description

Monroe Capital is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Finance and Valuation Group. This role will be responsible for supporting Monroe’s quarterly valuation processes, including liaising with 3rd party valuation firms, Monroe’s underwriting and accounting teams and auditors, organizing these groups to meet desired deliverable timelines and providing a value-added review of the modeled valuations. Additionally, this role will support Monroe’s quarterly portfolio reporting for investor relations and senior management and be responsible for assisting in the preparation of materials for Monroe’s valuation committee and various board structures.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist in implementing quarterly valuation policies and procedures and overall coordination of Monroe’s quarterly valuation process with relevant internal and external parties

· Review and analyze valuation reports prepared by 3rd party valuation firms, including assisting in the development of valuation approaches for difficult to value credits

· Build internal models for select credits and effectively communicate valuation model results and overall valuation trends to internal parties, including senior management and Monroe’s valuation committee.

· Prepare and review valuation reporting packages to support the needs of our various 20+ private investment funds and public investment vehicles.

· Prepare various forms of dynamic financial modeling to assist with portfolio management decision making, including preparation of sensitivity and stress analyses based on capital flows, transactions, and other assumptions

· Compile and analyze quarterly performance data from various sources and work directly with management to develop reporting materials that accurately and effectively communicate fund performance and portfolio composition to both existing and potential investors.

· Manage the annual audit as well as interim reviews with 3rd party valuation firms and the internal team and address open audit related items

· Collaborate with various groups throughout the firm including accounting, operations, underwriting, portfolio management, investor relations etc. 

· Drive enhancements and improvements to the overall valuations and reporting processes, procedures, use of internal resources and technology

· Maintain an understanding of industry/market trends

· Opportunity to transition to more managerial responsibilities based on performance

Requirements

  Position Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting

· 3 - 5 years of experience, previous portfolio valuation, underwriting or accounting experience preferred, but will consider candidates with experience in the commercial/corporate banking industry or private equity (or a related financial services field)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

· Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

· Understanding of valuation methodologies and approaches

· Well-organized self-starter with high energy, creativity, and thoughtfulness

· Detail oriented

· Familiarity with financial statements and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

· Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

· Strong Microsoft Excel skills

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Power Point)

· Database design and/or management a plus 

· Knowledge of statistics and statistical models a plus

 

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation will also include a discretionary performance-based annual bonus. Note, the salary range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

  • $120,000.00 - $130,000.00
