POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare, cook, and serve lunch in DECI’s Cafeteria.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Keep cafeteria in a clean and orderly condition, while working with food
  • Daily preparation and cooking of food following recipes and procedures outlined by Supervisor
  • Specifically follow all directions as given for food preparation, cooking and cleaning.
  • Follow all DECI safety and sanitary procedures.  
  • Assist with recording of charges (as needed).
  • Manual labor associated with the daily requirements of the cafeteria. Duties may include, and are not limited to, the following:
  • Sweeping
  • Wet and dry mopping
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Hand washing of pots and pans
  • Operating the dish machine
  • Lifting trays/pots/pans 
  • Always be aware of safety and immediately report any unsafe working conditions to lead supervisor or manager.
  • Participate in DECI-sponsored training as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma preferred but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and individuals with disabilities.
  • Stamina to exert yourself physically over entire shift without getting winded or out of breath
  • Fluency in English language
  • Reliable transportation
