The Role: The Recruitment Assistant sources the talent needed for the organization to grow and continue to  thrive, with a primary focus on recruiting potential qualified Foster Parents.    


 Responsibilities:   

  • Publicize Foster Parent position and other position openings via online methods, word-of-mouth  recruitment, phone, and in-person outreach including in churches, temples, and other faith-based  organizations, schools, universities, community organizations, daycares, etc.  
  •  Contact interested candidates and act as their first point of contact with the organization, being a brand  ambassador of the organization and ensuring candidates receive timely and accurate information  about the organization.  
  • Screen candidates to verify they meet with qualifications of the roles.   
  • Maintain a record of all candidates, sources, encounters, outcomes, and other relevant analytics.  Provide written reports as required.  
  • Select qualified job applicants or refer them to managers, making hiring recommendations when  appropriate.  Be able to meet recruitment needs of agency by sourcing for viable candidates using set  criteria.  
  • Work collaboratively with all levels of staff and communicate proactively with hiring managers  regarding candidate status and onboarding.  
  • Comply with all One Family Illinois policies, state, federal, county and city laws, rules and regulations.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 




Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's or some college level course completion preferred.  
  • Previous recruitment or call center experience preferred.  Experience with community outreach strongly preferred.    
  • Valid Illinois driver's license with acceptable driving record and proof of automobile insurance coverage.  Willingness and ability to travel to One Family Illinois sites and community partners.  Must  be available for some events and meetings on evenings and weekends.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and superior interpersonal abilities.  
  • Experience as a part of a diverse workforce and as a collaborative team member.  
  • Excellent word processing and filing skills and proficiency in computer productivity software (Microsoft  Word, Excel, Access).  
  • Organizational and time management skills.  
  • Ability to pass DCFS, required criminal background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS.  Ability to provide required DCFS Medical Report/TB test.  
  • Ability to work in an alcohol, tobacco and drug free environment.  
  • Must believe in the One Family Illinois philosophy and mission and be an advocate for all staff and for  the agency.
