JOB SUMMARY

JR McDade is seeking an expert Cabinet Finish Service Specialist to establish our Finish Services team. This role is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship in cabinet installation and finish work. As a subject matter expert in cabinetry, this individual will take the lead on the most complex and challenging 10% of service and finish-related issues—those beyond the scope of routine field work.


In addition to executing expert-level cabinet touch-ups, adjustments, and minor repairs, the Cabinet Finish Service Specialist will serve as a mentor and trainer to Field & Customer Service teams, ensuring they are equipped to successfully handle the remaining 90% of service needs. This role is essential in building product knowledge, refining technique, and raising the bar for quality and consistency across our cabinet installations.


The Cabinet Finish Service Specialist will also work directly with homeowners, in coordination with our customer service team, to explain cabinet-related concerns, provide education, and ensure a professional and reassuring resolution to any service issues.

By combining hands-on expertise with proactive support and coaching, this position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, improving service efficiency, and strengthening JR McDade’s reputation for quality in the new home construction industry.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Periodically perform final assessments and detailed inspections of cabinetry installations to ensure adherence to JR McDade's quality standards.
  • Conduct finish service work as needed on a job by job basis, including touch-ups, adjustments, and repairs to cabinet hardware, doors, drawers, and finishes.
  • Identify workmanship issues, provide corrective direction, and communicate feedback to field supervisors and installers.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of cabinetry materials, finishes, and installation best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including field supervision, scheduling, and operations to prioritize service needs and scheduling.  
  • Document inspection results and service activities accurately and timely using digital tools and platforms.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal staff, installers, and vendor partners on cabinet-related issues.
  • Attend builder meetings when required to assist in addressing high-priority or complex service concerns.
  • Represent JR McDade’s standards and values through every builder and installer interaction.
  • Work Directly with homeowners through our Customer Service department to address the cabinet questions and concerns.
  • Ensure safe practices on all job sites in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of cabinet installation, finishing, or service experience required.
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, and finish work.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to identify installation issues and effectively troubleshoot in the field
  • Experience working in residential construction environments preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
