Biomerics has an immediate opening for a CNC Wire EDM Machinist at our facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. Working in a team environment, this individual will program, set up and operate Sodick wire EDM for short and long run jobs. You will also help develop processes for new complex products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC EDM machines.
- Create and edit programs as needed.
- Design and create fixtures as needed.
- Interpret blueprints with thorough understanding to determine product requirements.
- Thoroughly understand shop math to determine acceptance criteria.
- Calculate speeds and feeds closely based on material.
- Assist with First, IP, Last article, and incoming inspection.
- Set up jobs for other production operators.
- Set up and run short or long running jobs and monitor quality and process stability.
- Follow applicable QMS Documents, Procedures, and Process Maps.
- Complete products with a neat and professional manner.
- Handle nonconforming products appropriately.
- Work effectively under a time restricted environment at times.
- Keep the work area organized and promote good housekeeping.
- Perform material handling or pack and unpacking when appropriate
- Work on new applications and develop the process to yield acceptable products.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma, G.E.D and 3+ years of applicable experience.
- CAMWorks, Esprit and SolidWorks experience.
- Willing to work overtime as needed.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Preferred)
- Milling, lathe, 3 axis, & 5 Axis experience (Preferred)
