Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking Gymnastics Coaches for our Summer Camp and Recreational Classes at our Goleta Valley Center.

Gymnastics Coach Essential Job Functions Include:

· Creating, preparing for, and coaching intentional gymnastics classes

· Ensuring gymnasts safety both physically and emotionally though active supervision while they participate in all aspects of the gymnastics program

· Actively spotting gymnasts during skills and coaching

· Keeping accurate records of attendance

· Abide and adhere to the safety requirements and procedures of our operations

· Developing and evaluating appropriate progressions for the gymnasts’ skill level

· Being a mentor and leader setting a positive example and role model for the gymnasts

· Encouraging, challenging, and supporting children as they experience gymnastics

· Participating in staff trainings, meetings, and events

· Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the gym facility, equipment, resources, and supplies

· Interacting with families in a positive and welcoming way

 Minimum Requirements:

· Experience working with youth in gymnastics or athletics setting desired

· Ability to pass criminal background check or Clean criminal record

· Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

· Vaccinations as required by State Law for licensed child care facilities (TB, Pertussis and Measles immunization. Flu vaccine recommended, but optional).

· Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a team member of a diverse and dynamic team

Summer Camp Coaches

· Summer Camp operates June 16th – August 8th –staff must be available to work all 8 weeks (preferred)

· Monday- Friday – staff must be available to work all 5 days (preferred)

· Tentative Shifts: 8:30am-3:30pm or 9:00am-5:00pm

Summer Recreation Coaches

· Summer Classes operate June 16th – August 8th

· Monday- Friday – flexible days and hours based on coaches' availability

· Class times range from 3:00pm-7:00pm

All Coaches

· Mandatory Staff Trainings

Monday June 9th – Thursday June 12th 9:00am – 4:00pm (in person)
