About the Role
We are hiring dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a Day Program or a community-based setting. As a DSP, you will help individuals with their daily routines, promote independence, and ensure a safe and supportive living environment. Day Shift: 8:30 AM-3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities
• Provide Person-Centered Support: Engage individuals in meaningful activities based on their preferences, strengths, and goals outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
• Facilitate Community Integration: Accompany and support individuals during community outings, volunteer opportunities, and social engagements to promote independence and social inclusion.
• Support Daily Activities: Assist with daily routines such as meal preparation, feeding, toileting, hygiene, and mobility while encouraging maximum independence.
• Skill Development: Support individuals in developing and enhancing skills related to communication, self-care, vocational training, and social interactions.
• Monitor and Document Progress: In accordance with regulatory and agency requirements, maintain accurate daily documentation of participation, behaviors, incidents, and progress toward goals in the Therap platform.
• Ensure Safety and Well-Being: Implement safety protocols and provide supervision to ensure a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
• Implement Behavior Support Plans: Follow strategies and interventions as outlined in each individual’s behavior support plan to address and manage behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with Team Members: Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, clinicians, and families to coordinate support and report concerns or changes in condition.
• Promote Dignity and Advocacy: Support each individual's rights, dignity, and choices and advocate for their needs and preferences.
Comply with Policies and Regulations: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality, documentation, training, and ethical standards, as well as District of Columbia regulations and credentialing requirements.

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Speak English
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to lift, transfer, and physically support individuals as needed
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (required for some sites)
Certifications & Screenings
• CPR & First Aid Certification (required)
• Medication Administration Training (preferred or provided)
• Crisis Prevention/Intervention Training (preferred)
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (required)
• Must pass national and state criminal background checks
• Must complete TB/PPD test and physical exam
• Subject to DMV screening and random drug testing
