The Vacuum Excavation Truck Foreman is the Company representative as he/she works with a Vacuum Truck Operator to locate and map out the existing utilities for electric, gas, water, sanitary and storm pipe) by using a vacuum excavation truck. This position interacts with customers to ensure satisfaction on current projects and to discover new job opportunities for the Vac truck.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads a Vac Truck Crew, including a Vac Truck Operator.
• Interacts with customers, inspectors and co-workers (primarily Site Superintendents and Pipe Supervisors) to ensure the work is done thoroughly, accurately and safely.
• Safely and efficiently operate the truck, ensuring water and fuel levels are full, maintaining all necessary DOT logs, and emptying vac tank in designated location(s).
• Secures the work area, ensuring the necessary space for the task at hand and safety for the crew. Uses a camera to take pictures of the utilities found in the hole; marks the area around the utility using a spray gun.
• Responsible to complete a daily log (electronic) containing the locations of the utilities; provides a written report to the Site Superintendent or Pipe Supervisor; communicates with supervisor to ensure all existing utilities have been found and are marked out.
• High School diploma / GED required.
• Previous experience doing labor work is preferred; tasks can be learned on the job in a relatively short period of time.
• Must be able to use fingers, hands, legs, feet and arms in a nonrestrictive way.
• Lifts heavy objects, may exceed 100 pounds.
