We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Staff member to join our team in providing essential support within our shelter operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of our guests while fostering a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain an approachable and engaging attitude toward guests and visitors, providing support and assistance with their immediate needs.
• Assist in supervising the nightly and weekend management and maintenance of facilities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and security.
• Enforce the rules and regulations that guests have agreed to follow upon entering the shelter.
• Manage emergencies effectively and provide brief crisis management as needed.
• Supervise meal preparation and distribution of food and supplies, ensuring that all guests receive adequate nourishment.
• Assign guest chores and monitor performance to promote responsibility and engagement.
• Participate in a rotating chore schedule for staff to ensure smooth operations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
• Experience in a caregiving or support role is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and security protocols in a shelter environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
