Description

To support the financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs a wide variety of advanced accounting work under minimum supervision. To assist members with their credit union needs, respond to problems and direct members to the appropriate people.

Requirements

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.


Education: A high school education or GED. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) certification is preferred.


Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

The ability to provide outstanding internal member service is required, including the ability to maintain a friendly and polite disposition at all times. Adherence to decorum and professional presentation are required for this position. The ability to maintain a professional, calm demeanor in potentially stressful situations is strongly preferred.


Other Skills: Proficiency in the use of a personal computer to include MS Word, Excel, and ability to use web and web-based applications; good oral and written communication skills, including proper grammar and diction; strong organizational skills, with the ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner. Proficiency in the use of an adding machine/ten-key calculator and keyboarding of 30 WPM are strongly preferred. Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting terms and processes is required.

Other required skills include self-motivation to complete job tasks to the best of personal ability; eagerness to learn new information in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to apply new information as appropriate.


Physical Requirements: During the course of a normal workday, incumbents will sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, use gross and fine motor coordination for activities such as using standard office machines, using paper (to include counting cash, sorting and filling paper items, etc.), and occasionally lift and carry incidental items such as supplies.
