Program Overview

Our IHA Training Program equips aspiring caregivers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to deliver safe, compassionate care in home- and community-based settings. Participants complete self-paced online modules followed by a hands-on skills practicum in our training lab.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Fundamentals of personal care, safety, and infection control
• Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Proper body mechanics and mobility support
• Effective communication with clients, families, and clinical teams
• Real-world caregiving practice under the guidance of an experienced instructor

Class Format:

• Part 1: Virtual learning
• Part 2: In-person, hands-on skills training

Eligibility

• 18 years of age or older
• Reliable internet access for virtual learning
• Commitment to complete both program components
• Genuine interest in serving seniors and individuals with disabilities
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs

NOTE: This training program requires participants to read and write in English in order to complete course materials, exams, and caregiver documentation.
