Randal Retail Group, established in 1981, is a third-generation family-owned business operated out of Batavia, IL. Randal manufacturers and installs custom store fixtures, signage, and graphics. Our team designs and manufactures custom millwork, seating, and tables – nationally and internationally. Randal Retail works with a number of retail, foodservice, health & fitness and franchise operations. 


About the role

We are seeking a traveling millwork installer that will travel to job sites installing fixtures throughout the USA. As a field installer, you will travel to job sites, assign work to helpers, receive and unload shipments with a forklift and install and trouble shoot issues onsite with the millwork. Travel is typically steady and there will be long stretches away from home.


Core Responsibilities

  • Working with and maintaining hand and power tools and other carpentry trade equipment while in the field
  • Measure, cut, prepare, and arrange materials for installation
  • Install cabinetry, trim, fixtures, and related hardware and parts
  • Mechanical and carpentry aptitude and a strong detail orientation:
  •                  Able to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings and project specifications
  •                  Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
  •                  Solid surface / Corian countertops 
  •                  Lamination 
  • Manage on-site helpers
  • Communicate thoroughly with Project Manager(s) to ensure all materials are on site to complete the job and that any issues are brought to their attention as soon as possible.

Requirements


  • 5 to 10 years wood working experience 
  • 3 to 5 years supervisory experience preferred 
  • Ability to work on short-term assignments with tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks, projects, and changing demands.
  • You are in good physical condition and have the strength and endurance to complete the installs efficiently in 10-hour shifts and the ability to lift 50 - 75lbs.
  • Posses a valid drivers’ license.
  • Must have reliable transportation and all tooling required for installations
