The Opportunity
The Operator is responsible for safely managing the offloading, packaging, and transfer of products from trucks into totes, drums, or bulk storage. Key duties include verifying Bills of Lading (BOL) and Certificates of Analysis (COA), managing valves and hose connections, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation. The role requires strong attention to safety procedures, equipment handling (including pallet scales and vessel load cells), and the ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The Operator also inspects tanker and valve connections and supports the overall efficiency of the loading and unloading process.
What You'll Do
- Ensure proper PPE material is acquired for offloading.
- Acquire BOL and COA from drivers before offloading.
- Offload trucks properly and according to safety requirements.
- Package products from trucks, into totes and drums and label appropriately.
- Understand, review, BOL (Bill of Lading) and handle product verification.
- Manage valve process on bulk products.
- Manage internal and external valves and emergency shut off valves.
- Inspect butterfly valve connections.
- Capable of comprehending SDS information.
- Visually inspect tanker before loading process begins.
- Manage hose connections and supply pumps when needed.
- Understand use of vessel cells and pallet scales
- Oversee stinger/wand during tote/drum transfer to bulk tanker.
- Clear transfer lines when needed.
- Manage proper use of pallet scales and vessel load cells.
- Other duties as assigned.
To Be Successful in This Role
Success in this role requires strong attention to safety, the ability to follow proper procedures for offloading and packaging materials, and careful handling of valves, hoses, and pumps. You should be able to review paperwork accurately, verify products, and manage equipment like pallet scales and vessel load cells. Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS) are also important.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with different departments.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
